Female manager of aviation ground service: 20 kilometers away from home, unable to go home in the Spring Festival of 18 years.

On January 18th, Shuangliu International Airport Terminal T1.

In the bustling hall, lanterns are decorated and the Spring Festival holiday is counting down. Outbound passengers are queuing to check in, and Liu Yujiao and her team are busy at the check-in counter. Entering Spring Festival travel rush, the number of outbound tourists has soared, and Spring Festival travel rush is another particularly busy day for them.

Liu Yujiao, International Passenger Transport Project Manager of Passenger Transport Service Department of Shuangliu International Airport Aviation Ground Service Company. She has worked in the airport for 18 years. In these 18 years, she witnessed the rise and prosperity of the "fourth aviation city" and felt that the international aviation hub city was busier every year, and more and more world tourists flew in Chengdu every day. In these 18 years, although her work place is only more than 20 kilometers away from home, she has never had a complete Spring Festival holiday to reunite with her family, and this year is no exception.

  Spring Festival in her eyes

There is no difference on weekdays.

It’s just that there are more tourists and more busy work.

Only one week before the Spring Festival holiday, Liu Yujiao opened a shift schedule and said with a smile: You don’t have to look at it to know that you can only spend New Year’s Eve at the airport this year. "Counting this year, it should be the 18 th year. I didn’t have a complete Spring Festival holiday with my family." Her calm expression made people feel that she was used to it. Liu Yujiao went to work at the airport in January 1999, and it has been exactly 18 years since then.

She said that the Spring Festival holiday is no different for them than usual. The only difference is that there are more tourists and more busy work. After working in the airport for 18 years, Liu Yujiao has worked in the boarding gate, dispatching, duty room and international check-in position of the passenger service department of Airport Ground Service Company, and now she has worked in the international check-in position for 4 years.

"We are engaged in a very special service position. Every holiday is the time when the number of travelers is the most, and it is also when we are particularly busy. We will not arrange vacations or take vacations." Liu Yujiao said that especially during the Spring Festival holiday, travelers who go home are eager to get home and reunite with their families. Travelers go out to play with their families during the holiday. If a certain link in the journey is not smooth, it will inevitably affect their normal travel and add troubles.

During their stay in Spring Festival travel rush, they can’t take a vacation. Even if they take a break from work, they will arrange some staff to be on standby. Once there is a large flight delay, they must get to work quickly. Therefore, even if you take a break, you basically stay at home and stand by at any time.

Because of this, Liu Yujiao lives in the west of Chengdu central city, only more than 20 kilometers away from Shuangliu International Airport. However, although the distance is so close, I can’t spend a complete Spring Festival holiday with my family for 18 years, and I can’t reunite with my family on New Year’s Eve.

"Who doesn’t want to spend more time with parents and children during the Spring Festival holiday? Who doesn’t want a family to get together and have fun? However, someone must stick to such a position, so that the passenger travel service can be guaranteed and smooth, and more families can be reunited and happy. " Liu Yujiao said that such working hours are long, and everyone is used to it, and they also know the significance and glory of sticking to such a position.

  The post where she works

Sports champions in the circle of friends have to swallow their grievances.

From January 17th, Shuangliu International Airport ushered in the second wave of passenger flow peak in Spring Festival travel rush. On average, an inbound and outbound flight took off or landed every 68 seconds, and the number of passengers leaving Hong Kong in a single day reached about 70,000. The airport entered a particularly busy stage.

Now, Liu Yujiao is the mother of two young children. Her husband worked in an airline and was too busy during Spring Festival travel rush. The children at home had to be entrusted to grandma and grandpa for care. Recently, Liu Yujiao’s 7-year-old son accidentally broke his hand while playing at home, but she couldn’t go home to accompany her children, and she felt a little guilty. Seeing passengers playing abroad with their children will also evoke Liu Yujiao’s thoughts about her children, and only occasionally call home to care about greetings.

"The international flight check-in post is a job dealing with passengers from all over the world. The requirements are very strict. You need to put your heart into your work, be enthusiastic, careful and patient, and show Chengdu’s good city image to the world." Liu Yujiao said that once you get into your work, you will completely forget about your family’s affairs, and sometimes you won’t think about your family’s affairs until there are fewer tourists in the middle of the night.

In Liu Yujiao’s WeChat circle of friends, she often wins the top ranking in the WeChat campaign, and walks 20,000 steps a day, which makes her friends curious. "Passengers see that we are working in front of the check-in counter. In fact, every time we take off an international flight, we will run back and forth from the check-in counter to the boarding gate." Liu Yujiao said that international flights are different from domestic flights. After check-in, you need to go to the customs declaration, then rush to the boarding gate to check the documents and see off the passengers, and then go back to the check-in counter to go through the formalities of the next flight. It is not clear how many times you have to go back and forth at the end of the day.

In fact, it is nothing to Liu Yujiao and her team to be unable to reunite with her family during the holidays. She is also proud to work in such a position, but sometimes it is the "unreasonable" behavior of individual travelers that makes them particularly uncomfortable and sad. "Especially when there is a flight delay, no matter how patiently we explain it, individual passengers vent their anger on us when they are emotional. In the face of grievances, we can only swallow our anger. After returning to the office, it is sometimes difficult to control our emotions and cry sadly." Liu Yujiao said that this is something they often encounter. To this end, the unit also set up a "grievance award" and invited psychologists to give them psychological counseling.

There are more than 110 people in the team of the International Passenger Transport Project Department of Shuangliu International Airport. They work in three shifts, and there are 40 regular staff who stick to their posts every day. They also gained social recognition in their silent dedication.

Walking into the office of the International Passenger Transport Project Department, the reporter saw a long row of medals and certificates on a row of cabinets, and many letters of commendation from tourists from all over the world were posted on the wall. These are undoubtedly the full affirmation of the performance of the flight check-in post team in international regions. During the interview, the reporter also learned that Liu Yujiao was named as the "advanced producer" of the year by Sichuan Airport Group, and this year she was also named as the "women’s pacesetter" by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, which is the highest honor for female workers in China’s civil aviation system at present.

The testimony of her own experience

International routes have nearly tripled, and Chengdu is becoming more and more international.

Liu Yujiao said that after work, she and her team will conduct self-study "charging" — — Learning foreign languages, such as English, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, German, etc., now the team has more and more foreign languages, and everyone is competing to learn foreign languages in order to keep up with the internationalization level of the city’s development.

Liu Yujiao has been working in the International Passenger Transport Project Department for 4 years. From the fact that the number of passengers checking in for international flights is more than one year, she obviously feels that the number of foreign passengers flying around Chengdu is more than one year.

"Witnessed ‘ The fourth city of aviation ’ The rise and prosperity of the work has also brought us a lot of joy and pride. " Liu Yujiao said that when she first started to work in the international flight check-in position, there were only over 30 international routes in Chengdu, but now this figure is close to 100. In just four years, the number of international routes in Chengdu has nearly tripled. Especially in the last two years, the number of international routes in Chengdu has expanded rapidly, and the network of international routes has become increasingly perfect. It has become more and more convenient and efficient to travel to and from Chengdu and transit in Chengdu, and it has also attracted more and more international tourists to Chengdu, so their work has become busier every day.

In fact, Liu Yujiao has been engaged in passenger service during her 18 years working in Shuangliu International Airport, dealing with inbound and outbound passengers every day, witnessing that Shuangliu International Airport is getting busier every year, and the annual passenger throughput of the airport has gone from less than 10 million passengers in the past to becoming the "fourth aviation city" in China, and now it has exceeded 46 million passengers, and the airport development has achieved several consecutive leaps.

"This year, Chengdu will also open a number of new international routes, and the flight check-in post in international regions will definitely become busier, but all of us will not have a trace of complaint because of being busy, but feel full and proud of our work. Everyone is full of love for this post." Liu Yujiao said, in fact, you can’t go home for reunion during the Spring Festival, and you can’t take a vacation during the big holiday. Everyone has long been used to it.

  Reporter’s notes

It is precisely because they "give up their small family"

"Everyone" can have a happy holiday.

In fact, Liu Yujiao is only a microcosm of many posts in Shuangliu International Airport, and also a microcosm of various posts on the Spring Festival travel rush security line.

They are writing touching stories that they think are "normal" and "should be" in ordinary and ordinary posts. During the interview, I also learned about a colleague of Liu Yujiao’s. In order not to touch his sad string, I decided to give up the interview with him, but only learned this touching story from his colleague’s story.

A few days ago, Liu Yujiao’s colleague’s father died of illness, and the unit granted him a family leave, which allowed him to take 15 days off. Everyone thought that he would not come to work until after the Spring Festival. Who knows, he only went back for 3 days, and then he quickly came back to work after taking care of his family. The day before yesterday, this colleague returned to Chengdu from Gansu and has gone to work. In the face of everyone’s concern, he simply said: "Spring Festival travel rush is a particularly busy time when people are needed. I will not feel at ease when I take a vacation at home. It is better to come back to work."

It is these ordinary workers who give up reuniting with their families during the holidays, and resolutely stick to their posts, so that travelers who come and go in a hurry during Spring Festival travel rush can walk more comfortably and smoothly, and enjoy the holidays with their families.
