Liu Yujiao went to work at the airport in January 1999, and it has been exactly 18 years since then.
She said that the Spring Festival holiday is no different for them than usual. The only difference is that there are more tourists and more busy work. After working in the airport for 18 years, Liu Yujiao has worked in the boarding gate, dispatching, duty room and international check-in position of the passenger service department of Airport Ground Service Company, and now she has worked in the international check-in position for 4 years.
"We are engaged in a very special service position. Every holiday is the time when the number of travelers is the most, and it is also when we are particularly busy. We will not arrange vacations or take vacations." Liu Yujiao said that especially during the Spring Festival holiday, travelers who go home are eager to get home and reunite with their families. Travelers go out to play with their families during the holiday. If a certain link in the journey is not smooth, it will inevitably affect their normal travel and add troubles.
During their stay in Spring Festival travel rush, they can’t take a vacation. Even if they take a break from work, they will arrange some staff to be on standby. Because of this, Liu Yujiao lives in the west of Chengdu central city, only more than 20 kilometers away from Shuangliu International Airport. Now, Liu Yujiao is the mother of two young children. Her husband worked in an airline and was too busy during Spring Festival travel rush. The children at home had to be entrusted to grandma and grandpa for care. Recently, Liu Yujiao’s 7-year-old son accidentally broke his hand while playing at home, but she couldn’t go home to accompany her children, and she felt a little guilty. "The international flight check-in post is a job dealing with passengers from all over the world. The requirements are very strict. Liu Yujiao said that once you get into your work, you will completely forget about your family’s affairs, and sometimes you won’t think about your family’s affairs until there are fewer tourists in the middle of the night.
In Liu Yujiao’s WeChat circle of friends, she often wins the top ranking in the WeChat campaign, and walks 20,000 steps a day, which makes her friends curious. "Passengers see that we are working in front of the check-in counter. In fact, every time we take off an international flight, we will run back and forth from the check-in counter to the boarding gate." Liu Yujiao said that international flights are different from domestic flights. After check-in, you need to go to the customs declaration, then rush to the boarding gate to check the documents and see off the passengers, and then go back to the check-in counter to go through the formalities of the next flight. It is not clear how many times you have to go back and forth at the end of the day.
In fact, it is nothing to Liu Yujiao and her team to be unable to reunite with her family during the holidays. She is also proud to work in such a position, but sometimes it is the "unreasonable" behavior of individual travelers that makes them particularly uncomfortable and sad. "Especially when there is a flight delay, no matter how patiently we explain it, individual passengers vent their anger on us when they are emotional.
