The spy war drama "Red" was circled by Edward Zhang Zhou Yiwei.

In recent years, there have been many unfinished dramas in domestic dramas, such as last year’s "Action to Break the Ice" by The Longest Day In Chang’an, and the recent broadcast of "I am Yu Huanshui" all had wonderful beginnings and regrettable endings. The spy war drama Red, which was broadcast in 2014, is a masterpiece.

The first few episodes of the play have taken the lead, and Xu Tian, played by Edward Zhang, used amazing insight and wise and calm planning ability to help communist party successfully transport a ship of detained medical materials under the eyes of the Japanese army and quickly let the audience enter the show.

The last few episodes are even more exciting. With meticulous thinking, Xu Tian skillfully set up various organs, not only miraculously rescued his fiancee Tian Dan, but also safely sent his mother Tian Dan out of Shanghai with the help of Tielin played by Zhou Yiwei, and successively got rid of the Japanese secret service leaders, big traitors and villains such as Ying Zuo, Wang Qinghan and Jin Ye, and successfully escaped himself, completing the impossible task. Especially in the end, he jumped into the well-trodden sewer after detonating a Grenade, which is enough to become one of the most classic scenes in China’s spy war drama.

Xu Tian, the accountant of Triangle Vegetable Market, is the lowest-key and forbearing underground worker in the domestic spy war drama. He really hides in the city. He usually wants to live a life of ordinary people who buy food and cook in peace, but at the critical moment he shows his amazing ability.

Tian Dan, played by Tao Hong Jr., seems to be a delicate lady, but she has the talent of making accidents to assassinate the enemy. But her unprofessional tactics have caused Xu Tian to take great risks for her many times.

Together, these two people have the same effect as Yu Zecheng and Cuiping in Latent, which can create a strong drama conflict and push the plot from danger to danger again and again.

In Lurking, Wang Cuiping, the former female guerrilla captain played by Yao Chen, was temporarily sent by the party organization to rescue the scene, and Yu Zecheng, played by Sun Honglei, pretended to be husband and wife and lurked in the Tianjin intelligence station of the military system. However, her careless and reckless personality and lack of underground work experience made Yu Zecheng a firefighter many times.

In "Red", although Tian Dan is far smarter and wiser than Cui Ping, he also has the talent to do spy work, but after all, he has no professional training and little knowledge. Every time he successfully completes the assassination mission, he always leaves many clues to the enemy, forcing Xu Tian to go to great lengths to help her destroy evidence and even confess his guilt to cover it up.

Tielin, played by Zhou Yiwei, is a tough man. As a policeman in the French Concession, he is not afraid of power, and he only wants to safeguard the fairness, justice and dignity of the law in troubled times. Japanese figure Sasaki and Hasegawa killed people in front of him in the French Concession. Soon after they were taken back to the patrol room, they were always let go by his immediate boss. He has been indignant about this and regarded it as his shame.

He is a principled, loyal and courageous policeman. In the play, in order to help Xu Tian save Tian Dan, he broke into the Japanese military police headquarters in Hongkou, and beat down ten Japanese soldiers by himself, which fully showed his strong fighting capacity and reminded people of Jet Li’s Jingwu Hero.

The scenes in the middle of "Red" seem to be more protracted and redundant. There are too many scenes of Xu Jiafang guests such as Lu Baorong, Xiaocui and Lao Ma, which are often boring. In particular, the scene of Liu Baorong and Lao Ma being jealously jealous for Xiaocui can be completely deleted.

In a few places in the play, the love of Xu Tian and Tian Dan is described a little unreasonable, especially Xu Tian’s concession performance in moving out and living that night when Liu Tang returned to Shanghai and broke into the Xu family, which is hard to understand, unlike a man.

However, in general, it is the best spy war drama in recent years, which is second only to Hidden, Plot Against and Kite, and the level of Before Dawn and Cliff is equal, each with its own merits.
